Flood management measure: Dike reinforcement

Definition

Dike reinforcement describes the process of strengthening the dike by e.g. raising the dike height, widening of the dike crest, broadening the whole structure etc. This process tend to adjust the cross section of the dike to changed loads on the dike e.g. more extreme and more frequent occurring storm surges.

Co-benefits and impacts

Improved protective effect, improved durability of the dike

Definition (GR)

Co-benefits and impacts (GR)
