Case study: Combined measures, Schleswig-Holstein, Seestermüher Marsch (20th c.)

Description of the application

The application included diking and damming of Pinnau and Krückau (10km of new dike) and flood barriers in Seestermüher Marsch, Schleswig-Holstein. By installation of the new dikes and construction of the two flood barriers the main dike line could be shortened to 32 km. A shorter dike line provides an enhamced flood protection.
