Community involvement is a bottom up approach which involves the community in decision-making process. For example, communities living in flood-prone areas are actively engaged in the identification, analysis, planning, monitoring and evaluation of disaster risk (including flood) in order to reduce their vulnerabilities and enhance their capacity.
