It was not possible to identify the location. A Google search showed a village called Agios Ilias in the currently occupied part of the island, but no river called Geropotamos.

Ουρανοπετείς καταρράκτες που προκάλεσαν ορμητικούς χείμαρρους. Ο Γεροπόταμος ξηρός και ανυνδρος το θέρος εγινε ορμητικός και παρέσυρε σπίτια και φραγμούς της κώμης ‘Αγ.Ηλίας’ και παρέσυρε ποίμνια προβάτων, βόας και όνους.Ενας νέος παρεσύρθη με την άμαξα του και πνίγη.
